I Remember...
I remember the first time I went snowboarding. It was horrible. We were at Lake Tahoe about two years ago and I wanted to learn how to snowboard. We went to the High Sierra, which is a pretty good mountain, and I went in a snow jacket, jeans, and no gloves. It was 20 degrees outside and I was freezing. We were taught that balance and weight control where you go. Braking was the hard part for some people, but not me. After that, we were suppose to go down the mountain twice. Our lessons were suppose to be an hour long, but there were some slow people trying to learn that couldn't go down the mountain. I was slow too, but when your hands are numb and purple, your pants are soaking wet, and you have snow in your jacket, it's kind of hard. After about an hour and a half, I went to the bathroom and tried to run hot water, which worked, but at first I couldn't feel the water running down my hands. It took about 15 minutes for my hands to warm up again and when they were, they felt weird. They were asleep half the time and still had no feeling in them. I ate some lunch after, which made me feel better and my hands were back to normal. I've only snowboarded one time after that, and I was prepared that time. I did really good too. My brother was really slow cominig down though. I had to wait thirty minutes before he came down. I had lots of fun and plan on going again.
